Privacy Policy
How Screenshot Roulette handles your media, device permissions, advertising, purchases, and privacy choices.
Screenshot Roulette (“Screenshot Roulette,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Screenshot Roulette mobile application (the “App”). Screenshot Roulette is designed to help you rediscover, organize, review, keep, and delete screenshots, photos, and other supported media stored on your device.
1. Your Photos, Screenshots, and Media
Screenshot Roulette uses access you grant to discover and review screenshots, photos, videos, and other supported files. The free experience focuses on screenshots; Premium may unlock additional file categories and local features. Availability depends on your selections, operating system, and permissions.
To provide discovery, Time Machine, Library Insights, and Cleanup, the App may process on-device file metadata such as media type, creation or modification dates, dimensions, duration, size, and local identifiers. Some metadata may be unavailable or inaccurate, and features may show only accessible items.
Your personal media is processed locally for these functions. Screenshot Roulette does not upload your photos, screenshots, videos, documents, filenames, local file paths, or media identifiers to our analytics or advertising services for discovery or analysis. Content is transferred to another app or service only when you initiate sharing through the device sharing interface.
2. Media Permissions
Screenshot Roulette requests media or file access as needed for the features you choose. Depending on your device, you may grant full access, limited access to selected photos/videos, access to selected files or folders, or deny access. Additional categories may require separate permission or file selection.
You can change permissions in your device settings. Revoked or limited access may prevent an item from appearing or being acted upon; the App may retain local records to support safe reconciliation. Losing access does not establish that a file has been deleted.
3. Reviewing and Deleting Media
Screenshot Roulette lets you review media and explicitly choose what to keep or mark for removal. Where supported, removal is submitted only following user action and any required operating-system confirmation. Cleanup can stage choices for a final review before deletion.
Some externally provided files cannot be safely deleted within Screenshot Roulette; those files may need to be managed in their original application. A deletion result that cannot be reliably verified may remain unresolved rather than being counted as a successful removal.
Deleted items may remain recoverable in Recently Deleted, Trash, cloud backup, or similar services. Removal does not necessarily reclaim device storage immediately, and synced photo-library changes may affect other devices.
4. Favorites, History, and Local App Data
The App stores local information needed for functionality, including favorites, media references, discovery and review decisions, Cleanup progress, Rapid Fire statistics, historical dates or file-size metadata, preferences, and notification choices.
Local records may persist until removed or reset, application data is cleared, or the App is uninstalled, subject to operating-system behavior. These records are not a cloud backup. Purchases and entitlement status are also checked through the relevant store and RevenueCat.
5. Sharing
Screenshot Roulette may allow you to share media using your device's native sharing functionality. Sharing is initiated by you.
When you choose to share an item with another application or service, that third party's privacy practices apply to information you choose to share with it.
6. Advertising and Consent
The free Android version uses Unity Ads to serve advertisements, including interstitial and banner placements. Google User Messaging Platform (UMP), through Google advertising components, is used for applicable advertising consent and privacy choices. Google AdMob is not the App’s direct interstitial or banner serving network in the current Android integration.
The App configures Unity advertising for non-behavioral/contextual use and applies consent and opt-out signals as supported. Unity, Google, and their service providers may process information such as IP address, device and app information, advertising identifiers where available, approximate location inferred from network data, consent choices, ad interactions, and diagnostics according to their own practices and applicable law.
Advertising integrations are not provided with the contents of your personal media library by Screenshot Roulette. An active Premium entitlement removes in-app advertisements. You can manage available advertising privacy choices through the App or device settings where supported.
7. Premium Purchases and RevenueCat
Screenshot Roulette offers an optional one-time Premium upgrade that unlocks supported additional media categories, Cleanup Mode, Time Machine, Library Insights, and an ad-free experience. Available features and the price are shown in the App before purchase; no subscription is required for this upgrade.
Android purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. RevenueCat provides purchase and entitlement management, including purchase validation, restoration, and access synchronization. RevenueCat may process a generated app user identifier, purchase/transaction details, product identifiers, entitlement status, device/app information, and related technical data needed for these services.
We do not directly receive or store full payment-card numbers. Purchase records and entitlement information may be retained by Google Play and RevenueCat under their respective policies. Screenshot Roulette does not require a separate account for ordinary use, but purchase restoration may depend on your store account and the supported purchase system.
8. Usage Analytics and Diagnostics
Screenshot Roulette uses Newly-hosted analytics to understand app operation and improve reliability and usability. Events may include app opens, spins, Keep/Delete interactions, purchases, and advertising-related events, together with timestamps, a randomly generated persistent installation identifier, session identifier, app version, platform/operating-system information, and limited event properties.
These events are pseudonymous, not necessarily completely anonymous. Screenshot Roulette does not send media content, filenames, local file paths, or private media asset IDs as analytics event content. Technical error information and service diagnostics may also be processed by relevant platform or service providers.
9. Notifications
If you enable notifications, Screenshot Roulette may send notifications relating to features such as Today's Discovery. You can disable notifications through Screenshot Roulette's available settings or your device's notification settings.
Disabling notifications does not prevent you from using the App's other available functionality.
10. Accounts and Identifiers
You do not need to create a Screenshot Roulette account to use its core features. Some services use pseudonymous installation or customer identifiers for analytics, advertising operations, purchase verification, or restoring Premium access. These identifiers are not the same as a public Screenshot Roulette profile.
11. Children's Privacy
Screenshot Roulette is not specifically directed toward children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable privacy laws. If we become aware that personal information from a child has been collected in a manner requiring deletion under applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to address it.
12. Data Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by Screenshot Roulette. However, no device, application, storage system, or method of electronic processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Because Screenshot Roulette's core media functionality is designed to operate locally, your device's security also plays an important role in protecting your media.
13. Data Retention
Local application data may remain on your device until it is removed through available app controls, cleared in device settings, or deleted when the App is uninstalled, depending on the data and operating-system behavior.
Newly, Unity, Google, RevenueCat, and other applicable processors may retain service data under their respective policies and legal obligations. Retention periods differ by provider and data type; this policy does not imply that uninstalling the App automatically deletes data already processed by third parties. Contact us for questions or requests concerning data within our control.
14. Third-Party Services
The App uses or may interact with Unity Ads (advertising), Google UMP/Google Mobile Ads components (consent), Google Play and Google Play Billing (distribution and payment), RevenueCat (purchase/entitlement management), Newly (usage analytics), and device operating-system media, notification, and sharing services.
These providers may independently process information under their privacy policies and contractual roles. For details, see Unity’s Privacy Policy, Google’s Privacy Policy, and RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
15. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can control available media and notification permissions in device settings, choose which supported media categories or files the App can access, and manage available advertising consent or privacy options in the App where supported. You may also manage device advertising settings and clear local app data.
Applicable law may provide rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information processed by us. For privacy inquiries, contact screenshotroulette@gmail.com. Requests involving independent providers may also need to be directed to those providers.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Screenshot Roulette evolves or as legal, technical, or operational requirements change. When changes are made, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy will be revised.
Material changes may also be communicated through the App or other appropriate means when required.
